Candidate submissions for KEA statewide officer elections open through January 17

If you are interested in running for a statewide officer position in KEA, all eligible members can complete this “Candidate Filing Form” and submit the form by email to CCC@kea.org. The deadline to declare candidacy for these offices is 5 p.m. Eastern, Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Delegates to the 2023 KEA DA will elect candidates to the following officer positions in April 2023:

• KEA NEA Director* – This is a vacant seat. The term begins September 1, 2023 and ends August 31, 2026. (*Note that all candidates for NEA Director must have been a member of KEA/NEA for two years immediately preceding the election.)

• KEA Ethnic Minority Director (Seat 2) – This is a vacant seat. The term begins July 1, 2023 and ends June 30, 2026. 

• KEA Ethnic Minority Director (Seat 1) – There is an incumbent in this seat (elected temporarily by the KEA Board of Directors) who is eligible to run. This election will fill the remainder of an unexpired term. The term begins immediately upon election and ends on June 30, 2024.
