This program is designed  for educators that want to become a leader in their profession, but aren’t sure exactly which pathway they want to pursue.

Doctoral Degree

 Western Kentucky University’s Educational Leadership doctorate (Ed.D.) prepares teachers and administrators to lead organizational improvements in schools and districts. The Ed.D. creates scholar-practitioners with knowledge and skills to face and overcome practical challenges facing education organizations. Using principles of improvement science, WKU Ed.D. candidates complete an innovative dissertation-in-practice utilizing a series of research-based interventions to impact a real-world problem of practice from their own school or district context. Program graduates gain new skills in leadership, research, and organizational improvement techniques, adding value to their own schools and the larger field of educational practice.
