KEA recommends that all new and beginning officers take the association’s “Claim Your Place at the Table” training for local association officers. This training will increase your knowledge of the association and develop your leadership skills. The main topic areas covered will be communication (communicating as the association leader); understanding and using your constitution; association structure; running effective meetings; and membership. There are several components within each topic area.
KEA will offer the “Claim Your Place at the Table” training on June 17 and 18, 2013, at the Embassy Suites in Lexington. Each workshop will run from 1:00 pm to 4:00* pm on day one and from 9:00 am to 4:00* pm on day two. Registration is from 12:00 to 1:00 on day one. Meals and double-occupancy sleeping rooms will be provided. KEA will provide mileage for one car per local.
There is no charge for the training to elected officers of KEA locals, but a registration fee of $150 per individual is due when you register. It will be refunded to you upon your arrival at the conference. The cost per participant to KEA is approximately $200. We request that registrants cancel at least by June 1 if they find they are unable to attend. Any participant not cancelling by this time will not receive a refund of his/her registration fee of $150.
