KEA provides 3 options for you to access the Ethics for Educators Training
1. On-line Option
Ethics for Educators is a course offered through this 3rd party vendor that we have partnered with.
Cost: $39
The course will take approximately 5-6 hours to complete.
You will receive a certificate at the end of the course as proof of attendance.
2. Face to Face Training Option
Due to the current restrictions KEA IS NOT offering any in-person Ethics training.
Cost: FREE for KEA Members
3 hour training- $150 for non KEA members
6 hour training- $300 for non KEA members
Course Description:
This course reviews ethics as defined by the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB). Participants examine various ethical situations along with actual cases that have been addressed in several states. Participants will explore important information about ethics in Kentucky through collaborative group time. Participants are actively engaged in collaborative activities that cause them to reflect on their own decisions and different levels of risk they are willing to accept. We offer this course in a 3 hour or a 6 hour version depending upon your needs.
Participants will explore:
- What is Ethics? Ethical Spectrum and Risk
- Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB)
- Kentucky Code of Conduct for Educators
- Scenarios & Case Studies
- Professional Conduct
- Relationships with Students, Parents, and Colleagues
- Model Code of Educator Ethics (MCEE)

3. NEA Micro-credential Option
Cost: FREE for KEA Members
$75 for non KEA Members
Micro-credentials are competency based and take approximately 15 hours to complete.
They are intended to be done over 6-8 weeks to show growth and competency in the content area.
