KEA-Retired membership provides representation by the largest association in the state and in the nation concerned exclusively with the interests of education employees and retirees. As part of the 39,000+ member lobbying force, KEA-Retired watches over your interests, including rising health care costs, working to end the Social Security Offset Provisions (GPO/WEP) and minimizing the attacks on Medicare and attempts to change benefits provided under the Kentucky Teachers Retirement System. KEA-Retired keeps you in touch with your colleagues, advises you of legislation that may affect you and provides valuable member benefits and information that includes the $1,000,000 liability insurance in the event you return to work as a substitute, the Educator Access Discount Card and a host of programs designed specifically for education retirees. Effective January 1, 2007, all retiring members of KEA will be automatically enrolled in KEA/NEA-Retired as part of the new Continuous Membership program—at no cost to them!
