KEA's 2010 ESP Regional Training
This spring, KEA will offer regional training sessions for ESP members and leaders. The purpose of the training is to increase knowledge and skills and to promote an attitude of increased confidence in empowered members and effective leaders. The four sessions will take place during April and May in Madisonville, Georgetown, Elizabethtown, and Pikeville. All KEA members who are education support professionals are invited and encouraged to participate in one of the sessions. KEA will cover the cost of registration and materials, double-occupancy room, meals and the opportunity to network with other ESP members in their region.

Kentucky Students Don’t Need Charter Schools
(Column from KEA News, January 2010, by Mary Ann Blankenship, KEA Executive Director) Proponents of charter schools see them as the solution to Kentucky’s education ills. For Kentucky’s children to be successful, however, KEA believes we should focus together on funding all Kentucky public schools for all children rather than diverting our attention to an unproven strategy that eliminates oversight and accountability. Kentucky’s school employees prove every day that we are dedicated to our students and are on the path to assuring that every child receives a great public education. Read more.
