KEA Student Program will hold its third annual Minority Leadership Conference this year on November 4 from 8:00am  to 4:00pm at the new Fredrick Douglass High School in Lexington. In past years, this conference has brought together minority aspiring educators from different colleges and universities  across the Commonwealth  to come together to engage in  current issues in education. Download a flyer here.  View the agenda here.

This year's conference "Changing the Mindset; Regaining the Power", is a  day is filled with interactive professional development sessions, a lunch forum with superintendents and  participants. Each aspiring educator in attendance will receive a professional development certificate to put into  their portfolios. This is a great opportunity to have rich conversations about what is attracting and impacting minorities going into education and how to best reach talented students to enter into this worthy and rewarding  profession.

Who can attend? Any KEA Student Program member who is male or ethnic minority who is aspiring to become an educator. Any person who is at least one hour from conference may request hotel accommodations for Friday night prior to conference. Carpool is highly recommended.
